World telescopic handler market leader JCB has upgraded its largest model, the 540-200, with the adoption of an EU Stage IIIB/US EPA Tier 4 Interim driveline. The 20-metre lift height machine will make its UK show debut at Vertikal Days 2014.

The 540-200 - JCB’s first telehandler to be equipped with a five-section telescopic boom - is now powered by JCB’s highly efficient Ecomax diesel engine, delivering 109hp (81kW), up from the previous machine’s 100hp (74.5kW). The machine is also available with the option of a 125hp (93kW) version of the JCB Ecomax engine.

It will be joined by a series of machines from across the JCB Loadall telescopic handler range including the compact 515-40 and the 531-70, 535-95, and 540-170 models.
