A Norfolk-based plant hirer has purchased six new JCB 3CX backhoe loader models to carry out highway construction and maintenance contracts across East Anglia. Matthew Williams Digger Hire took delivery of the new backhoes from dealer Watling JCB - and the company’s most experienced operators have praised them as ‘the best machines they have ever driven’.
The new 3CX machines are already at work, servicing contracts for Norfolk and Suffolk Councils, for which Matthew Williams Digger Hire is the main highways contractor. It is responsible for projects including road maintenance, repairs, light construction and drainage work.
They have been deployed to work on various road projects in Gorleston, Bradwell, Sprowston, Wymondham, Newmarket and Norwich.
Owner Matthew Williams said: “We trust and believe in JCB through, so it was no surprise we selected these machines for our latest fleet additions. However, even we did not expect them to make such a great impact. They offer everything you need for highways work. Some of my most experienced operators have operated backhoe loaders for 14 or 15 years and they say these latest models are the best they have ever driven.”
Founded in 1999, Matthew Williams Digger Hire offers operated and non-operated plant along with contracting services including: site clearance, footings, drainage and ground works. The company’s fleet is exclusively JCB and comprises micro, mini and tracked excavators models from 1-22 tonnes along with a range of compaction equipment.
