PLANT HIRER CAPITALISES ON UPTURN WITH 6 5 MILLION JCB ORDER

Award-winning Lancashire hire firm, Buckhurst Specialist Plant, has ordered more than £6.5 million of JCB machinery – including a fleet of 25 backhoe loaders and 100 JCB Loadall telescopic handlers.
 
Buckhurst Specialist Plant runs 2000 machines in total from its bases in Lancashire, Leeds, West Lothian and a brand new depot in Aberdeen. It supplies plant and equipment nationwide to the construction, groundworks and utilities industries.
 
Buckhurst Specialist Plant Chairman, John Walsh said: “We feel it is the right time to make this sizeable investment and capitalise on the definite upturn we have seen in groundworks projects as more and more new build sites appear. The new machines expand our nationwide fleet and will also increase our presence in the Scottish Highlands – stocking our recently opened a site in Aberdeen.
 
“Nothing can compete with JCB on reliability or resale value so the total cost of ownership is low. Fuel economy is also a major factor for our customers so the new JCB T4i EcoMAX engines on all these machines will be a real selling point. The Loadalls ensure we have a modern fleet with the latest innovations and we always buy JCB backhoe loaders as they are what our customers ask for.

In total the deal includes: 25 backhoe loaders and 100 Loadall telescopic handlers ranging from 5 to 20 metres lift heights. All the machines apart from several 520-50 Agri Loadalls are powered by JCB’s award-winning EcoMAX Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Interim diesel engine.
 
This highly efficient powerplant offers 6% more torque than the previous model, yet consumes up to 9% less fuel. The EcoMAX engine also meets the latest emissions standards without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF) or any form of exhaust after-treatment, simplifying maintenance and further reducing ownership costs.
