JCB Power Products is preparing to target the rental market by offering a full range of generators to suit any application. The company’s QS Generator range covers power outputs of 20-220 kVA, whilst JCB’s innovative Inteli-Hybrid Generators and B40 Battery Box provide an alternative power solution for customers looking to save fuel and costs. And now JCB Power Products is preparing to launch a range of RS-branded generator sets, specifically designed for rental customers.

The RS range will sit alongside the existing QS line of generators, which can also be tailored for rental use with a host of industry-specific options.

RS generator sets include:

  • Robust, heavy duty rental skid base with 12 hour bunded fuel tanks
  • Hard wearing powder-coated zinctec steel canopies to rental specification
  • Single point lifting and fork lift pockets for easy handling
  • Rental spec Alternators and control options including Synchronisation
  • Two year, 4,000 hour warranty
  • JCB LiveLink telematics

Rental requirements

The business will unveil the new RS-branded generator sets over the next 12 months, beginning with the compact range of models. The RS range, specifically designed for rental customers, will sit alongside the existing QS line of generators, which can also be tailored for rental use with a host of industry-specific options. JCB Power Products will launch a full range of rental-specific RS generator sets with power outputs from 20 kVA through to 2000 kVA. Produced in the UK, all models feature a sturdy powder-coated zinctec steel canopy for maximum protection on site. Proven Mecc alte alternators are used for efficiency and with Deep Sea Electronics controllers and Schneider switchgear, for durability and ease of operation. The smallest models in the line-up, with outputs of 20-45kVA, are powered by the fuel-efficient JCB by Kohler diesel engines, while 60-131kVA and 160-200kVA models come with JCB’s own Dieselmax engines. Larger 300-500kVA models will be Volvo-powered, while generators with 800-2,000kVA outputs are powered by proven Cummins diesel motors. The range also includes Stage IIIA engines to suit all legislated regions.

In line with rental requirements, all models come with bunded fuel tanks, delivering on average 12 hours of continuous operation. They also get a three-way fuel valve and an optional racor fuel filtration, to protect the fuel system from contaminated fuel. Oil sump pumps are also standard.

A battery isolator is part of the specification and the generators are equipped with earth leakage protection and a socket box for easy connection. For ease of movement and to prevent damage during transportation, the generator canopies have a single lifting point for cranes and fork lift pockets integrated into the skid chassis.

JCB Power Products’ existing QS range of generators, that offer outputs of 20-200kVA, can also be tailored for rental use. Optional equipment for the QS models includes socket boxes and a battery isolator, bunded fuel tanks will contain any spills to prevent site contamination should a leak occur, single point lifting and fork pockets, three-way fuel filtration and fuel valves allows the QS models to be placed in harsh environments and maintain performance and earth leakage protection and an oil sump pump.

JCB Power Products are releasing a number of rental spec options on their QS range which includes socket boxes, three way fuel valves, battery isolators and single lift point. In addition, JCB’s three-model Inteli-Hybrid range, and the B40 battery box, can be equipped with many of the rental market options where required. Inteli-Hybrid generators are available with outputs of 65-115kVA and can be powered by Stage IIIA JCB Dieselmax engines or a range of fuel-optimised engines.

New to the JCB range is the innovative telematics solution, LiveLink which will be installed on QS models above 60kVA and on all RS models provides as the ultimate fleet management tool. JCB’s LiveLink provides Generator performance information such as load, idle time and generator working hours data. LiveLink offers fleet managers a remote management solution that helps to plan preventative maintenance and allows rapid fault diagnosis in the case of unscheduled downtime. With both location tracking and geofencing capabilities it delivers increased asset security and provides fleet managers with the means to better balance fleet use, in response to real-time operation.
