Sportive 2025 Events NSPCC

Following on from another successful Sportive, we are pleased to announce our next event will take place on Sunday 18th May 2025, coinciding with JCB's 80th anniversary celebrations.

This non-competitive cycling event gives you a choice of three separate picturesque routes through Staffordshire and Derbyshire. It’s open to all JCB employees and members of the public, suitable for all ages and abilities.

There will be on-site catering and facilities available for cyclists and their supporters on the day. Entrants will also have access to feed stations along routes and receive an exclusive participation medal.

Entry Fees

Until 21st March: 

  • JCB Staff- all routes- £20.00
  • 50km- £25.00
  • 70km - £30.00
  • 100km- £35.00

Then after 21st March, prices increase to:

  • JCB Staff-all routes- £30.00
  • 50km- £30.00
  • 70km- £35.00
  • 100km- £40.00

On the day registration increases to £45.00 for everyone for all routes.

Last year’s Sportive saw over 130 people take part which raised over £12,000 for the NSPCC – a feat which would not have been possible without our riders and sponsors.

This charity ride sees all funds raised go directly to the JCB NSPCC Appeal.

The following terms and conditions are intended to help J C Bamford Excavators Limited (“JCB”) organise the JCB Sportive 2025 on Sunday 18 May 2025 at starting at JCB World Headquarters (the “Event”) and to ensure the safety of all the Event’s participants.

By registering for the Event, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

REGISTRATION

  1. 1. Participants must submit an official registration form with the correct registration fee for your chosen course. The registration fee contributes to the cost of staging the Event and includes your entry pack. Any funds raised above the event costs or donated shall go to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (registered charity no. 216401) (“NSPCC”).
  2. 2. Registration for the Event is open to anyone over 12 years of age, however anyone under 16 years will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult, who are also required to be registered for the Event.
  3. 3. Following registration you are unable to cancel your place, which is non-refundable. If, however, you wish to transfer your place to another person following registration, please email events@jcb.com for your request to be considered.
  4. 4. Please be advised that your Event number and a timing chip will be available for you to collect on the day of the Event. Please note that these are provided for your safety and must be used whilst participating in the Event.

EVENT DETAILS

  1. 5. Participants will be organised into waves, which will start the Event at allocated intervals between 8:00hrs and 10:30hrs. As it is expected that all participants are likely to have completed their course by 14:00hrs please note that the official stations and marshals may not be available after this time.
  2. 6. There is a choice of three courses approximately 50km, 70km or 100km.
  3. 7. The Event shall be timed by way of a colour coded number with a chip attached to your bike and linked to a timing mat at the start and finish line.
  4. 8. The Event will be controlled by a number of marshals. For your safety and that of other participants and the spectators, please abide by any instructions issued by the marshals.
  5. 9. Should alterations to the planned activity be necessary to ensure safety of our participants, we will give prior notice either before the Event or on arrival to the Event of any alterations made.
  6. 10. Should a decision be deemed necessary to postpone or cancel the Event, we operate a no refunds policy. JCB shall not be liable for reimbursing the cost of any travel or accommodation arrangements made by participants. If the Event is postponed all entries will be carried forward to this new date. Participants are encouraged to look out for updates via social media channels.
  7. 11. By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during the Event to be used to publicise or report on the Event generally. Should special dispensation be required, it is the responsibility of the participants to inform JCB of such requirements.
  8. 12. We recognise family and friends may wish to photograph the Event, however if you are an unofficial professional or commercial photographer and plan on taking multiple photographs of participants who are not personally known to you, please contact us prior to the Event to obtain permission and a full briefing. In order to ensure the safety and privacy of our participants, JCB reserves the right to ask any person taking photographs to refrain from doing so.

YOUR SAFETY

  1. 13. For your safety and enjoyment of the Event, we ask that all participants adhere strictly to the Highway Code, all instructions given by the Event organisers and Event marshals and must not put themselves or fellow participants in danger
  2. 14. The Event involves a level of sustained physical activity. All participants make the decision to take part and must be satisfied that this activity is suitable for them as individuals. Neither JCB nor its affiliates can be held accountable for aggravation to illness or injury sustained due to participation in this activity. Participants are recommended to seek advice from their medical practitioner prior to taking part in this Event, and make provisions to ensure their safe. participation. First Aid assistance will be available during the Event.
  3. 15. It is mandatory that all participants wear appropriate clothing, footwear and an approved safety helmet to ensure their safe and enjoyable participation.
  4. 16. Participants are asked to come equipped with whatever necessary clothing, medication and nourishment is required to enable enjoyable and safe participation in the Event.
  5. 17. JCB reserves the right to refuse a participant’s attendance at or participation of the Event without liability to refund. We strive to organise safe and enjoyable events and hope that you will help us in achieving this.
